A tattoo can be a very personal gift. The most useful starting point is usually a budget and a choice of studio, while the person wearing it decides the design, size and placement.
If you are buying for someone in Irlam or Salford, The Viper Pit’s tattoo and piercing gift vouchers are available through our online shop. Here is how to choose a gift without needing to plan someone else’s tattoo.
Start with the person, then choose the amount
Before buying, check that the recipient actually wants a tattoo and likes the studio’s work. A voucher works particularly well when they already have an idea, have mentioned a future appointment or want to add to an existing piece.
Our shop currently offers £10, £25, £50 and £100 voucher options. Pick a budget you are comfortable giving rather than assuming a particular value will cover the whole tattoo. The final quote depends on the design, placement, size and detail.
For context, our tattoo price guide explains the studio minimum and the different appointment types. A voucher value is not a promise that any design can be completed for that amount.
Keep the design as their decision
You can make the gift thoughtful without choosing a permanent image on their behalf. Include a note about why you thought of them, or suggest looking through the portfolio together after they open it.
For inspiration, browse our fine-line tattoo work or pet portrait tattoos. Let the recipient decide what appeals to them. A surprise voucher leaves room for that conversation; a surprise appointment with a fixed design may not.
What should you check before purchasing?
- The amount: select the value you intend to give on the voucher listing.
- The service: tell us whether the gift is intended for tattooing or piercing if you need help choosing.
- How to receive it: the listing offers studio collection or a voucher emailed digitally. Confirm arrangements if you need it for a particular date.
- Validity: the current listing states 12 months from purchase. Read the voucher terms before ordering.
- Booking: buying a voucher does not itself reserve an appointment. Arrange the design discussion and appointment separately.
If you are wondering about combining voucher values, using a voucher towards a larger project, deposits or any remaining balance, ask us before purchase. Getting that detail clear is better than making assumptions about how a future booking will work.
Can you give a voucher to someone getting their first tattoo?
Yes, but make sure it is something they want, with no pressure to book before they feel ready. Our tattoo appointments are for adults aged 18 and over, and our normal ID, consultation and suitability requirements still apply.
The recipient can send their idea, approximate size, placement and reference pictures through our enquiry page. Once an appointment is arranged, our tattoo appointment checklist explains how to prepare.
