Thinking about a second lobe, a helix and perhaps another piercing in the same visit? It may be possible to arrange more than one piercing at an appointment, but the right plan depends on the placements, your existing piercings and how the new ones will fit into daily life.
At The Viper Pit in Irlam, we would rather check the combination before you book than have you choose several separate services and hope they work together. This guide explains what to send us and what to consider if you are travelling from Salford, Eccles, Urmston, the Trafford Centre area or elsewhere in Greater Manchester.
Can I book several piercings together?
Start by contacting the studio with the exact piercings you want. There is no single answer that suits every person or every combination. The piercer needs to consider the anatomy and placement, any piercings you are already healing, and whether the appointment you selected allows enough time.
A request for two lobe piercings is different from planning several cartilage or facial placements. If you are not sure of the names, send a photograph and mark the areas you mean. Our ear-piercing placement guide can also help you identify common lobe and cartilage positions.
Decide whether you want symmetry or a curated look
Some clients want matching placements on both ears. Others prefer several piercings arranged on one ear so that the jewellery forms a balanced group. Tell us which result you have in mind before the positions are marked.
If you are building a curated ear, include a clear photograph of both ears. Your anatomy and existing holes affect where new jewellery can sit; a saved inspiration picture is a starting point, not a promise that every placement will translate exactly.
Think about sleeping and everyday pressure
Before choosing both ears at once, think about the side you normally sleep on and anything that presses against the proposed placements. Headphones, helmets, glasses, work equipment and tightly fitted clothing may all matter, depending on the piercing.
The Association of Professional Piercers advises avoiding undue friction and pressure around healing piercings. Its aftercare guidance also recommends leaving jewellery alone except when cleaning and following the advice given by your piercer.
Tell us about anything you wear regularly. That gives Chris useful information when discussing the position and whether it makes sense to stage the plan rather than doing everything in one visit.
Mention piercings that are still healing
Let the studio know about any recent piercings, even when they are in a different area. Include when they were done and whether you are having any difficulty with them. A piercing can appear settled on the outside before the inside has finished healing, so do not base the decision only on how it looks that day.
If an existing piercing needs a fit check or different jewellery, mention that separately. Our guide to downsizing and jewellery changes explains the difference between changing the style and adjusting the fit.
Plan the jewellery as a group
If the overall look matters, say whether you prefer plain pieces, matching ends or a mixed style. Starter jewellery still needs to suit the individual piercing and its initial healing needs; the finished arrangement can sometimes be developed later.
Do not assume that the exact ring or decorative piece in an inspiration photo will be suitable as starter jewellery. Chris can explain what can be fitted at the appointment and what may be considered after healing.
What to send before booking
A useful enquiry includes:
- The names of the piercings—or a marked photograph if you are unsure.
- Whether you want one ear, both ears or another combination.
- Photographs of your ears or the relevant area.
- Details of any piercings that are still healing.
- Anything that may press on the placements, such as glasses, headphones or a helmet.
- Your preferred dates and whether you have a particular jewellery look in mind.
These details help the studio advise on the booking. They do not replace the in-person assessment: the final placement is discussed and marked before piercing.
Need several appointments instead?
Sometimes the more practical plan is to build the arrangement in stages. That is not a failed appointment; it can make the process easier to manage around sleeping, work, sport and aftercare. If staging is advised, ask which placement should come first and when to contact the studio about the next step.
